As discussed in the previous post, quality education is a really important aspect that should

definitely be improved. The Cogent Community or TCC is a student-led not-for-profit that works with other grassroots and advocacy firms to strengthen and deepen societal and environmental impact. TCC designs community outreach and implementation projects around various themes.

Resultantly, promotes four of the SDGs: financial inclusion, gender equality, access to quality

education, access to health and hygiene!

Understanding the value of quality education, TCC has done a couple of projects towards this cause.

TCC came up with a comprehensive mentorship program centered around the idea of active

learning through a series of continued interactive sessions for underprivileged children, from

class 3-10. TCC wanted their work to be effective and thus were thoughtful enough to first gain feedback from the students themselves about what they would like to learn. By giving each student focused education in essential subjects such as English and Maths, the volunteers of TCC did their best to contribute to the future of India.

TCC tutors the orphanage kids in Mumbai in person and through online means and through their hard work, many children have benefited. Many understand concepts better and seem to enjoy the sessions as well.

Organizations like TCC are what’s required to create a positive impact. Today more than 24

crore children do not receive proper education in India and in order to reduce this number

significantly, the government, NGOs and all other organizations need to work together. Only

through combined efforts can a change be brought and TCC is a leading example of this!
